It is with tremendous pleasure that we announce, Atriarc Planning has been named by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), as the Small Planning Consultancy of the Year, in the national Awards for Planning Excellence (2020).

The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence are the most established and respected awards in the UK planning industry. Running for over 40 years, they celebrate exceptional examples of planning and the contribution planners make to society. The ceremony took place virtually on the RTPI’s YouTube channel and was a great success, with a competitive field in all award categories.

Director, Wayne Reynolds, said:

"After all the years of hard work setting up the company, building relationships with clients, Local Authorities and other businesses, we are so pleased to win the RTPI 2020 Small Planning Consultancy of the Year award. To be shortlisted was a great achievement, but to win the national award in such a competitive field of entries, is a testament to all the hard work and high level of service we always seek to provide for client projects, from a simple house extension right the way through to a major development site.

The award means so much to me personally. We may only be a small team but to be recognised by the Institute, peers and the judging panel is simply an outstanding achievement! The response to winning the award has been fantastic, especially seeing all the congratulations and great messages on social media. It really does mean a lot. The support from family members over the years, as well as colleagues new and old, has helped build the business and now to be recognised by the RTPI by the award is amazing.

We look forward to continuing the great work we undertake on behalf of clients and raising a glass to celebrate (even if it is a virtual one for the time being)."

The judges’ commented: "The judges were extremely impressed by Atriarc Planning who, as a sole practitioner, outshone several larger firms. They felt that not only did the submission give the best description of work on a project in terms of the planning process, but outcomes too. The judges were impressed by the flexible approach, willingness to learn and the drive to see projects through to implementation. This entry showed a great deal of passion and dedication to projects and clients evidenced by the comprehensive service offered."

RTPI President Sue Manns FRTPI said: "The ongoing coronavirus pandemic is challenging us all to think about what is important in our lives and the lives of those around us, the local places and spaces around us, the way that we work, use our homes and communicate with others. This year’s winners shine a spotlight on the very best practice in delivering future places and spaces that work for everyone. They provide us with inspiration and confidence in the future of our profession."
