Funding mechanisms for infrastructure projects are extremely complex. In this months Wales Farmer article, Atriarc Planning offers an overview of the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) regulations and the potential implications on rural Councils and development projects. Whilst CIL will not wholly replace previous Section 106 contributions for local, more discrete projects, it certainly has the potential to provide developers with greater certainty on likely development costs. However the rural situation is a little different as the levels of development would very rarely provide significant sums of funding towards larger infrastructure projects. As an overview article we hope you enjoy. If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact Atriarc Planning.
